Volume 3. Materials from the Z. Kiselgof Collection. Jewish Folk Music And Theater
       Ім'я Зіновій (Зусман) Кисельгоф мало відомо сучасним єврейським музикантам, в той час як він є однією з найважливіших фігур в відродженні єврейської музики в Росії на початку 20-го століття. Колекція єврейських фольклорних матеріалів, які він зібрав протягом декількох десятиліть його життя (в цілому - близько 2000 музичних одиниць) має надзвичайно важливе значення як за кількістю так і якістю. Ця колекція значно вплинула на формування єврейської національної музичної школи в Російській імперії, процвітання яких можна було б пояснити «ідей самопізнання», які були так популярні серед єврейської інтелігенції в цей період. Композитори і виконавці вважають колекцію Кисельгофа головним джерелом для кращого розуміння єврейського національного мелосу.
       Реальна сфера діяльності Кисельгофа в галузі єврейського фольклору була не оцінена на належному рівні до тепер. Матеріали його колекції зберігались в радянських архівах і бібліотеках по статусу спецхолдінгів протягом декількох десятиліть, і були абсолютно недоступні для дослідників. І навіть тоді, коли вітер соціальних змін в колишньому Радянському Союзі доторкнувся до них, вони не отримали популярності відразу. Був дуже повільний процес визнання і оцінки цих прихованих скарбів, які вимагають від дослідників доброго знання мови ідиш, єврейської музичної традиції, єврейської літургії і розуміння шляхів розвитку єврейської національної музичної школи в Російській імперії і Радянському Союзі.
